Nothing says, “I love you” like a carefully prepared meal that you can enjoy at home. We’ve assembled five easy and gourmet grass fed beef recipes, two dessert ideas, and table setting tips so you can impress your sweetheart this Valentine’s Day!
Main Dishes
1. Roast Beef Tenderloin with Garlic and Rosemary
Wine pairing suggestion: Bordeaux

Rub our 100% grass fed beef tenderloin with a garlic-rosemary paste, brown it in a hot pan, and roast in the oven until it’s 145 degrees (medium). Then, baste the tenderloin in a butter and rosemary sauce and serve it alongside a horseradish yogurt sauce. Recipe via Bon Appetit.
2. Flank Steak with Pomegranate Glaze
Wine pairing suggestion: California or Washington Cabernet blend

This sweet-meets-savory flank steak recipe comes from Chef Marcus Guiliano and Aroma Thyme Bistro, the most-awarded restaurant in the Hudson Valley. This recipe can be finished in under an hour so you have more time to spend with your date.
3. Ribeye Steak and Potatoes for Two
Wine pairing suggestion: Cabernet Sauvignon or a spicy Zinfandel
Image via NYT Cooking
NYT Cooking’s ribeye recipe is as simple as it is satisfying. Marinate the steaks in sliced garlic and rosemary, sear them, and finish them in the oven. Then, serve the steaks alongside buttery baby potatoes adorned with parsley and lemon zest. We love their idea of serving the ribeyes on a bed of arugula—it’s the right peppery accompaniment to a spicy Zinfandel wine.
4. New York Strip Steak with Gorgonzola Butter
Wine pairing suggestion: Malbec

In this case, New York Strip steaks skip marinating and go right for big flavor via gorgonzola butter made from the tangy blue cheese, cream cheese, butter, and pine nuts. This extraordinary dish can be served alongside hand-cut fries (pictured) or, if you’re looking for a side that’s equally as impressive as the main event, try these mashed potato puffs from The Cooking Jar. 5. Baked Shells with Pesto, Mozzarella, and Meat Sauce
Wine pairing suggestion: a robust, jammy Zinfandel like Primitivo
Image via Food & Wine
Food & Wine combines ground beef (try flavorful, 100% grass fed ground beef!), tomatoes, pesto, mozzarella, Parmesan, and shells for a classic pasta dish that’s great for any date night. Serve alongside a fruity red Zinfandel and crusty French bread with whipped butter. Recipe via Food & Wine.
Desserts
These sweet treats are the perfect ending to a robust grass fed beef meal!
Dessert Idea 1: 3-Ingredient Flourless Chocolate Cake

We’re not sure how Gimme Some Oven achieves so much flavor using so few ingredients, but we’re not complaining. Eggs, chopped chocolate, and butter do a little magic in the oven and poof!—a restaurant-level cake emerges. Top with powdered sugar and berries and serve to your sweetheart with a smile.
Dessert Idea 2: Easy Strawberry Cheesecake
This slightly lighter cake from Life, Love & Sugar can be made in a 9×13” pan with very simple baking techniques, so you know it’s a keeper. You’ll love the thick crust and abundant strawberry sauce. We love the pink and white color palette for Valentine’s Day!
Table Settings
Both of our table setting ideas include earthy tones and greenery—a thoughtful call-back to the star of our dinner: grass fed and grass finished beef!
Table Setting Idea 1: Rose & Whimsy
Check your local thrift store for vintage glasses and plates in shades of rosy pink, cream, and mint. Lay fresh or faux white and green flowers (peonies and succulents) on a table runner in matching baby pink.
Table Setting Idea 2: Modern Ambiance
This setting features drippy white taper candles, greenery (spiral eucalyptus), and simple white plates and cutlery. It’s a romantic choice for those who prefer a modern look over the classic Valentine’s Day “roses and chocolates” spread.
